VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Not all offices are allowing their staff to leave early or enjoy a long Christmas lunch.  Many have to buckle down in order to meet their year end deadlines.

Today is a hectic one, especially for accountants, financial experts and people preparing taxes

"Tight deadlines, preparation for tax season, a lot of the cyclical financial reporting and financial time frames kind of fall in between this time as well. It can be quite of stressful to balance work-life and holiday requirements."

"It could be anywhere from the CFO level, controllers, any type of accounting professional on a clerical level...ensuring that all the data is imputed correctly. So it can be anywhere from a junior position right up to the senior level."

Anaar Dewjee with staffing agency Accountemps suggests managers try to offer extra support to their staff trying to get ready for the holidays while still trying to meet their deadlines.

"An appreciation event for the holiday season is always nice as well."

Travel and expense company Concur has identified December 20th as the world’s busiest day for submitting expense claims.
